What is an energy strategy?
The Energy Statement shows how you will achieve the carbon and energy reduction target set by your Local Planning Authority (LPA) for new-build developments. LPAs set their own targets so this will vary according to the location of the development. It’s often a reduction of between 10% and 19%.
How is low energy and carbon assessed?
After assessing every aspect of energy use I’ll put together a report showing how your development has adopted a carbon and energy reduction strategy that meets the target set by the LPA.
Why are they required?
Before applying for planning permission, you’ll need an Energy Statement to comply with Part 25A of your local Building Regulations,. The Energy Statement can then become a working document to help steer the design and construction of your project.
